BIOHAZARD ALERT: ConGlomeration vs. Coronavirus
With the coronavirus altering or cancelling major events world-wide, the ConGlomeration ConCom is offering this guidance on how we’re preparing for the real-world bio-apocalypse.
ConGlomeration 2020 is Cancelled
In accordance with current COVID-19 safety recommendations, as well as local, state, and federal mandates, and to ensure the health and well-being of our membership, the Convention Committee has elected to cancel our final ConGlomeration.
What Happens to My Membership?
Those who pre-registered for ConGlomeration 2020, including artists and vendors, will be refunded the full price of your membership, minus any Eventbrite convenience fees. We expect to have those refunds processed in the next few weeks with a goal of completing all refunds by May 1. Both Eventbrite and Paypal are under some not-surprising strain right now, so we (and our treasurer and accountant) ask for patience.
Those of you who booked hotel rooms at the Crowne Plaza may request refunds by phone at (888) 233-9527. Alternately, those who reserved online can click the link in their hotel confirmation emails to cancel their reservations. So long as you cancel at least 48 hours in advance of your original check-in date, you will incur no penalties.
Those of you that shipped art to ConGlomeration for the Kyle Thomas Art Show can, appropriately enough, contact Kyle Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate the return of your items.
The ConGlomeration website will remain online for a few months longer with the cancellation information, and our Facebook Page (which we expect to inherit many of our photos and memoriams) will remain active for as long as Facebook allows. We may no longer have an event to call our own, but the ConGlomeration community lives on (and may crash a con or two somewhere else, just for the frak of it).
If you have additional questions about our virus preparedness, please contact email@example.com.
